Colorado
There is a groundswell of interest in Colorado in the development of environmental education and a state environmental literacy plan. Colorado has been involved in the State Education and Environment Roundtable (SEER). Colorado was among the first 10 states to pass a charter-school law in the early 1990s, and it has expanded its law in recent years. More than 100 charter schools operate in urban and rural areas throughout the state. The Colorado League of Charter Schools, which provides a variety of important services and programs, is a good contact for information of environment-focused charter schools in the state.
